Then you must be lost.  Want a cookie?  Kidding.  You, in fact, have stumbled across my journal.  Congrats!   Welcome!  If you’re not here by mistake, typo, or coercion, and genuinely have an interest in viewing this journal, please proceed.  Tread carefully though, since I tend to be a bit random and silly.  The harmless kind though, so no worries. =]

I have had this account for a while, but never really did anything with it (until now). I like a little bit of everything, but I have been going through a JE phase lately. If you don't know what that is, consider yourself lucky, hahah. I am content with just passing by here and there.

Read if you wanna try to decipher the inner workings of my brain, or if you’re bored.  Either one is fine. =]

Random Trivia About Me )

Basically, I’m interested in many different things: music, manga, dramas, video games, anime, reading, drawing, writing, foreign films, etc.  My fascination varies from one topic to the next.  It makes life more fun that way.

Currently...
Watching:  Beautiful Life & Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (This may be blasphemy, but I like Kame's character in this. D=)
Playing:  Jeanne D'arc (PSP) <- I love these types of games.  The baddies are haters though. =P

Sakura Girl

NEWS's new song "Sakura Girl" is pretty good.  Nice concept.  Admittedly, I wasn't impressed with "Koi no ABO" so this was a nice surprise.  Did anyone else notice that ICONIQ's "Change Myself" and "Sakura Girl" have similar openings?  I was listening to ICONIQ and was like " Eh?  How did NEWS get in there?.  Oh, whoops."  Maybe it's just me...  Edit:  It's pretty much just the main beat =P.

Although the song is pleasant, what is up with some of the dancing?

Haha, Koyama. =P

Yeah, watching their Music Station performance reminded me of their "Koi no ABO" PV when it reached this part.  I guess the choreographer really likes making them diva-esque, heh.  Can't wait for the PV.

Dragon Origami
Well, my break from origami didn't last long. =O  The reason for this is that I had a bunch of white pieces lying around and they were beckoning me to utilize them.  The model I ended up making required a lot more pieces than I had, though. D=  Here's the result.......

Details )

What I learned, anything can look good with the right adornments, heh.  I was gonna post this much later, but I realized Easter was coming up and someone might want to take a stab at it themselves.  If you figure it out, please let me know. =]

Also, while clearing out my files, I came across this file called "Paper Toy".  Then I remembered that it was a template I made a long time ago for this.  It's pretty neat although I would advise you to not use colors that come off on your fingers.  I also placed the tape on the backside.  If you don't like the black lining, fold it all out first then color the reverse side.  There's also another way to make this.

That is all. =]

Dragon Origami
Last year, someone introduced me to 3D modular origami which are basically models that use LOTS of small folded triangles.  Upon seeing them, I thought, "I could do that."  Thus, a new hobby began.  The pieces that make these models up are a pain to cut and fold, but once you're past that, they're quite fun to assemble...if the model is easy to begin with.  As an added bonus, it helps with recycling if you have old colored paper around. =D

Origami Wave )

I'm in one of those uninterested lulls again until the urge strikes once more..  I hope to be able to make the blue winged dragon at some point, but I doubt I'll be able to do that for a while.  It looks so complicated.  Meh, before anything happens again, I'll have to continue folding and folding and folding..... ;P

If every musician had their own show, I would prolly fall for them, music unheard.

It happened with Ya-Ya-yah (and NEWS by extension)  -> Adorable & Goofy.
And with V6 (Gakkou e Ikou) -> Hilarious and touching at points.  **I have to say though, I was a fan of their music before I knew who they were thanks to Inuyasha and Gokusen and maybe a few others that I am not aware of at the moment.

Then again, I've watched numerous Arashi shows and haven't been hooked.  It depends on the content, I suppose.  Then comes the question, do I really wanna know what they're like in person?  I remember an old episode of Cartoon KAT-TUN where Kuroki Meisa was a guest.  She spoke very little and pretty much sat there stoically through the show.  "Hmm, not very personable, huh?"  Later on though, I saw other videos of her where she was lively and interesting to watch.  So I suppose it depends on the circumstances and what they present.

Anyway. I saw an episode of VVV6 which had Daigo (above) as a guest. Immediate thought -> "Dang, he's cute!" He was polite, goofy, and adorable. It was a nice contrast to what I had initially thought, cool and rockstarish although more gimmicky than anything else. From watching other clips, I think he would make a great parent, judging by his interactions with a penguin.  (What a name to give a penguin, heheh.)  Plus, he looked ...interesting in his youth.  (Is this how Ueda would look if he were in Visual kei instead? =P)  Sadly although he piqued my interest, I could not get into Breakerz. I tried, watching PV after PV (maybe I'm listening to the wrong ones?...) and found his voice to be grating. I like the music though.  Strange.  Nice guy, but please just stand there and look pretty. HA!   I guess I just gotta watch more things with him in it, which may not be a bad thing at all. =]

Some of life's disappointments.

  • Jan. 24th, 2010 at 10:44 PM
Duckie
The superficial kind:  I'm disappointed that my fave team didn't make it to the Superbowl. =/  That game was messed up in more ways than one.

The serious kind:  A couple of weeks ago, I attended an uncle's funeral.  He was nice and caring, giving me pocket money every time he saw me even when he wasn't a man of great means.  It's a sad loss, but he was sickly and he lived 3 years beyond the 2 years the doctors gave him.  An amazing feat when you think about it.

Rest in peace until we meet again, uncle.

I'm not disappointed in his passing, since he was getting weaker and weaker by the day.  It was inevitable.  My dad had promised to meet up in April, but we met earlier under sadder circumstances.  Since he lived in a different state, we drove 10 hours to reach them.  Once there, we had a mini family reunion of sorts since an aunt and cousin came from Holland for that sad occasion amongst other relatives.  I was happy to see them and to know that my cousins had mellowed out and weren't annoying brats like before.   Then there's my aunt, whose house we gathered at.   ***SNIP***  It was getting long & ranty.  Let's just say my uncle's sister is a tightwad who cannot grasp the circumstances and learn from the past.  People are at your house for a reason.  Stop being so petty and ridiculous.

Okay, out of my system.  More cheery stuff later on.

Not like my glasses aren't thick enough...

I came across the Summer Snow jdrama with Domoto Tsuyoshi again and realized something...

...the cute guy on the left is Tsubasa.  When I watched it before, I had no idea since I wasn't into Johnny's that much although admittedly I thought he looked strangely familiar and should have known. =/

Oguri Shun is on the right.  This prolly was the second drama I saw him in. GTO being the first.  Man, was he tiny.  I didn't think he'd spring up like that, but looking at Nishikido, it shouldn't be too surprising.

I thought this drama was a good heart warming tale that kinda reminded me a bit of 14 sai no haha and something along the lines of 1 Litre of Tears. They're not similar to those really, but I think they're alike with the subject matter and emotional aspect with family and friends.  It's a pretty mellow drama overall.  I know I didn't like the opening theme song though.

I choose you!

Yeah, I used a Pokemon reference for my title.  It'll work.  Ack, I didn't think so much time has passed since my last entry.  Well, I'll keep it short and post some more in detailed entries later since I don't want the shock of my reemergence to overwhelm you. =P

I was watching Arashi's VIP Room with Ueto Aya & Becky.

Becky looks cute, right? Very girly.  Her episode with Arashi was really fun.  Lots of teasing and laughs. Anyway...

Ueto Aya's ideal sort man sounds like a jerk.  Erase her phone book? Sure.  Treat her like a puppy? Why not.  Girls are weird. =/  Becky on the other hand wanted someone with more depth, artistic and drama-like.   This got me thinking.  What are MY impressions of Arashi as dating material?  After a tiny bit of thought they are:
Ohno - Space Cadet
Sho - Calculating.  He may seem to be bullied and whatnot, but he knows what he is presenting as his image.
Nino - Take it or leave it type of guy.
Matsujun - Conceited, standoffish.  I think once you're on his good side, you're prolly really treasured.
Aiba - Dorky, excitable

If I were to choose, I would pick Aiba.  He may not be the best looking, but he seems kind and genuine which is what really matters to me.

Hopefully my next entry won't take as long to pop up, heh.

Taught by Youtube

I've come across some interesting Youtube videos that helped me make a cool origami flower and do a self french manicure.

First, I was trying to find a video on making an origami Kawasaki Rose.  Well, my efforts resulted in a puffy box rather than a rose.  BUT, there was a link to a cool looking origami lotus that proved more fruitful.

Not bad, eh? =D  It's looks cool and tough to do, but it's really not.  Just a little patience and you can knock one out in no time.

Next, my mom was bored and decided to paint my nails.  She chose a rather bright pink and decorated it with a random design as shown on the left.  Well, a couple of weeks later it chipped and I was in the mood for a french manicure.

I rarely do my nails, so I think the french tips look all right.  The video made it seem easy.  Definitely cheaper than at a nail salon. =P

Would anyone be interested in Young Song scans?  I have a couple of old ones with NEWS & Tackey & Tsubasa.  They might be located online elsewhere though. *shrug*
